Celina Fawcett has such a gift.

My first memory of her is that of a very tiny girl sitting quietly on an Appaloosa mare while it bucked and acted out its agitations. Not once did Celina ‘blame’ the mare, nor did she appear to be afraid. In fact she appeared to love that this mare was working herself out.

I determined that day to keep an eye on her progress as a horse woman and at my first opportunity and with the assistance of her mother Ginny invited her to ride a troubled pony I was about to take on as a ‘last ditch’ effort prior to (the pony) being euthanized. Celina and the pony mare understood each other immediately and with guidance from myself Celina helped turn this little mare around to the the point of the mare becoming a solid mount for three young children. This was the beginning of many such turnarounds. Through a group I started called The Little Whispers Horse Society of Canada Celina honed her skills along with several other youngsters who were looking for a different way to relate to horses. She has never looked back.

I rarely take on apprentices.

This summer I agreed to take Celina for a three week apprenticeship designed specifically for her to more deeply understand the workings of her Medicine Herd.

I could not be more proud of the depth to which Celina has taken these teachings.

I am confident that her gifts will move her and those she connects with forward in as yet unimaginable ways.
